House 2 Home

A subscription based product simplifying the home decor shopping experience.

Project overview

House 2 Home customers feel overwhelmed when having to purchase multiple items to decorate a new space. They also lack the confidence to purchase multiple items-scared that the items they purchase wont go together or will feel disjointed. This presents an opportunity to create a tailored solution that simplifies the decorating process, providing curated options or expert guidance. By addressing these pain points, House 2 Home aims to revolutionize the home decoration experience, making it more accessible, enjoyable, and empowering for customers.

Process

I utilized the GV Design Sprint methodology in order to achieve quick testable results that I could then validate. The sprint was divided into 5 phases. This was all about creating quick, but thoughtful decisions.

Conclusion
& Results

House 2 Home introduces a streamlined subscription-based shopping system, enabling customers to effortlessly purchase multiple items with one click, placing trust in our expert curation. Choose between a one-time purchase of three items or an annual subscription at a discounted rate, receiving a curated selection of 12 items throughout the year, with three items delivered each quarter. This approach ensures a fresh and exciting home styling experience without overwhelming users. Consumers resonated with the new experience and claimed they were likely to use the subscription for multiple rooms in their home.

Sketching

There are endless ways to attack the problem which can feel overwhelming at times. Using exercises like the :”crazy 8’s” helps filter through different ideas quickly. When sketching solutions I kept my map in mind as well as my “how might we..” questions.

Prototyping

Prototyping

I focussed on my critical screens when prototyping. Establishing trust, browsing styles, selecting a product, and checking out. Items like payment information and style quizzes will be implemented later if this design proves effective.
